There are numerous hiking trails and promenades, then cycling trails and another interesting way to get acquainted with the beautiful natural and historical heritage of the Kastav region is horseback riding. Nearby Matulji, also called the gateway to the Opatija Riviera, is known for its bell tradition, which is on the UNESCO list of intangible heritage. They are also known for their gastronomy and in the local taverns you can taste ?jarbola?, a wine with a particular taste made from the local grape variety. The nearby U?ka Nature Park is an ideal place for relaxation and recreation. Lovers of active vacations can enjoy the exceptional nature here, adorned with many protected and rare species of flora and fauna. From the top of Vojak you can enjoy a phenomenal panoramic view of the Kvarner islands, Istria and Rijeka. You can enjoy various sports activities such as hiking, free climbing, mountain biking and free flight.
